Dubai: The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced its participation in the Maison&Objet Paris trade fair, taking place from 16th to 20th January 2025.
The Authority will showcase the UAE Design Oasis, an initiative that highlights the work of 15 UAE-based designers at one of the world’s most prestigious home décor and lifestyle events.
The UAE Design Oasis is part of the Dubai Cultural Grant Program and the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy. It aims to support Dubai’s cultural and creative sectors by providing a global platform for designers to exhibit their talent.
The initiative reinforces Dubai’s position as an international hub for the creative economy, showcasing the emirate’s commitment to nurturing innovative design and craftsmanship.
Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts, Design, and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, highlighted the design sector’s role in cementing Dubai’s status as a global creative hub.
Dr. Saeed noted that Dubai Culture prioritizes fostering innovation and competitiveness in design, adding that Maison&Objet provides an essential platform to showcase UAE talent and support creative start-ups.
The UAE Design Oasis will feature a diverse collection of furniture, homeware, and products that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics.
Highlights of the exhibit include glass sculptures, furniture inspired by palm fronds, tables crafted from compressed soil, and other sustainable, cutting-edge creations.
By participating in Maison&Objet Paris, Dubai Culture continues to strengthen its role in promoting Dubai as a leader in the global creative economy while fostering the growth of the design community within the UAE.
