Dubai: Dubai CommerCity has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eBay, the global e-commerce leader.
Being the region’s first dedicated free zone for digital commerce, Dubai CommerCity’ collabration with eBay support businesses by expanding their sales and global reach through eBay’s extensive online marketplace.
During the offical MOU signing ceremony, Abdulrahman Shaheen, Executive Vice President of Operations at Dubai CommerCity, and Ashish Chhabra, Vice President and General Manager of Global Verticals at eBay, were present at Dubai CommerCity headquarters. The agreement was signed on behalf of senior representatives from both parties.
In account of collaboration, Abdulrahman Shaheen highlighted its potential to improve the global presence of businesses within Dubai CommerCity. Shaheen said that, “This collabration will allow companies to access over 190 global markets, significantly enhancing their business growth and providing new investment opportunities.”
Shaheen added that this joint venture aligns with Dubai CommerCity’s commitment to providing smart logistical solutions, latest infrastructure, and cutting-edge innovations to support the evolving needs of its local and international clients.
Ashish Chhabra, Vice President of Global Verticals at eBay, shared eBay’s interest for the partnership, stating that their primary goal is to spport UAE-based retailers connect with eBay’s 132 million active buyers across 190 countries. Ashish Chhabra commented that, “We are excited to collabrate with Dubai CommerCity to expand the supply of in-demand auto parts and luxury goods from the UAE. This partnership will help reshape the digital commerce landscape by leveraging eBay’s technology and global marketplace.”
Chhabra added that the partnership provides an exciting opportunity for innovative companies to learn from eBay’s platform experts on how to scale their operations internationally.
As part of the MOU signing, companies based in Dubai CommerCity will benefit from a range of opportunities, including connecting with global sellers through eBay’s marketplace, attending expert-led training programs on digital trade, and gaining insights into best practices for expanding export opportunities. Additionally, companies will receive a complimentary three-month eBay Basic store subscription in account with partnership.
Dubai CommerCity will actively promote the collaboration by encouraging its network of companies to involve in eBay’s workshops and seminars. The free zone will also provide infrastructure and support to businesses looking to utilize eBay’s platform and establish their presence in Dubai.
