Dubai: DMCC, the world’s flagship free zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise, has launched the DMCC AI Center, Dubai’s latest AI innovation platform.
The main objective of center is to boost artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and scale real-life AI applications across the MENA region.During the launch event, DMCC hosted over 60 eminent guests, including H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), and Dr Marwan Alzarouni, Chief AI Officer of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), alongside government officials, ambassadors, and key industry stakeholders. The participants were briefed on the services and merits offered by the new AI Center.
H.E. Khalfan Belhoul highlighted Dubai’s goal of being a global AI leader by 2031 through the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence. He hailed the DMCC AI Center’s launch as a crucial milestone in attracting AI companies and cementing Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for technology and innovation.
Located in Uptown Tower, the DMCC AI Center will collaborate with other leading technology ecosystems, such as the DMCC Crypto Centre and DMCC Gaming Center. The center will prepare state-of-the-art co-working spaces, high-tech meeting rooms, and an exclusive AI solution showroom for candidates.
Being residence to over 50 global AI and robotics companies, including AMD, Autel Robotics, and HIKVISION, DMCC’s AI Center is set to greet more AI players. The most vital partnerships include Builder.ai, a global software and app developer, which will support members in building AI-powered applications. UAE-based AGCC will lead booster programs and attract top AI technologies to the region, with one upcoming competition in October offering a $100,000 prize for startups developing sustainability-focused AI solutions.
DMCC Executive Chairman and CEO Ahmed Bin Sulayem highlighted AI’s projected economic impact, stating that, “With AI set to contribute over USD 15 trillion to the global economy by 2030, its capability to transform global trade is evident. The DMCC AI Center will enable companies to tap into world-class AI solutions from Dubai, creating a ripple effect across industries.”
