Dubai: The International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD) has unveiled 4 new humanitarian and healthcare initiatives in the UAE and across the globe.
These initiatives were revealed at an event which witnessed the presence of Major General Salim Ali Mubarak Al Shamsi, Assist Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services and several other officials.
The 4 Initiatives, namely, FOREVERCARE, International Congress for Health Specialties (ICHS), DIHAD College, and DIHAD Glasshouse are expected to make significant humanitarian achievements around the world, especially to countries experiencing violence and natural disasters.
FOREVERCARE
An annual affair, the FOREVERCARE Initiative will collect medicines, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals through partnerships with companies and drug manufacturers and donate them to underdeveloped nations to ensure that every household has the medicine they need.
The Initiative will offer $16.34 million worth of medicines and medical supplies every year to those nations to achieve a world free of illnesses and fatal diseases.
INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS FOR HEALTH SPECIALTIES (ICHS)
ICHS is a unified global accrediting system for continuous education that helps to train and qualify medical and health professionals across the world. ICHS aims to cover 436 specialties and subspecialties with over 500 cores of professionals to improve the standard when it comes to healthcare professionals and provide a global platform to connect for information, equality, and professional progress.
DIHAD COLLEGE
DIHAD College is the first-ever institution to offer an international humanitarian master’s program to empower, promote, and train future humanitarian entrepreneurs with sustainable mindsets while enhancing their skills.
Students can enroll into a one-year program undertaking a total of 60 credit hours. They will be involved in a practical internship with one of DIHAD’s prestigious partners and ultimately submit a thesis paper to graduate with a Master’s Degree in Arts for Sustainable Humanitarian Actions.
DIHAD GLASSHOUSE
DIHAD Glasshouse is a sustainable startup program that helps aspiring humanitarians see their projects come to life. Teams and individuals can apply to the program through an online portal and present their ideas.
A DIHAD Committee will then choose projects with the best sustainable humanitarian ideas, which will then be guided through personal mentoring and receives exclusive access to sponsors and partners through DIHAD.
