Sharjah: The beach town of Dibba Al Hisn is all set to host the 9th Edition of “Al Maleh and Fishing” Festival which will kick off on 8th September 2022.
The Festival is expected to bringing together several private entities, shops selling Al Maleh fish as well as productive families.
Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in collaboration with the Dibba Al Hisn Municipality and Municipal Council, the 4-day event, for the 1st time in its history, will host dialogue sessions attended by a group of researchers with expertise in maritime heritage.
The attendees are expected to discuss various issues and topics related to marine industries, navigational crafts and traditional fishing tools.

The event will shed light on the latest developments in Al Maleh industry, while giving the exhibiting companies and entities a platform to share their knowledge, insight, and suggestions for advancing traditional, heritage-based industries.
Through a series of workshops and fascinating activities, visitors will be introduced to the basics of making Al Maleh, including how to salt it and pack it. Visitors will also be entertained with folkloric performances and shows by a number of popular bands.
The event will also involve cooking competitions, as well as other contests and questions directed at the public, with valuable prizes being announced through the daily raffle.
The Festival which will highlight the maritime history in Dibba Al Hisn in particular and Sharjah in general, will also act as a gathering place to celebrate Al Maleh industry, as well as a lively platform where influential members of the maritime industry can network and strengthen ties with the exhibiting businesses.
