Dubai: The Public Health Protection Department of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has successfully completed a six-month-long vision-screening campaign in schools across Dubai. The campaign, conducted in collaboration with qualified optometrists from Al Jaber Optical’s expert team, aimed to identify potential vision problems among students and promote the significance of regular eye examinations and eye care.
Over 26,700 students from various schools in Dubai participated in the campaign, which ran from October 2022 until the end of March 2023. Through basic vision tests, including visual acuity assessments, the campaign helped raise awareness about the importance of maintaining good eye health among students. The initiative aligns with the DHA’s commitment to promoting public health and ensuring that students have access to high-quality healthcare services.
Dr. Ramadan Ibrahim AlBlooshi, Acting Director at DHA’s Public Health & Protection Department, highlighted the organization’s dedication to ensuring the optimal health of students through regular health awareness campaigns. These initiatives aim to educate children about health and well-being, emphasizing the significance of preventive care and early detection.
The DHA expressed gratitude to Al Jaber Optical for their support in this important school health campaign, as well as the management of schools in Dubai for their cooperation in driving such public health initiatives. The successful conclusion of the vision-screening campaign underscores the DHA’s dedication to the health and well-being of students in Dubai, while also reinforcing the importance of regular eye care and screenings for early intervention and treatment.
