Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been awarded with the Global Excellence Assembly Awards 2022 in the “Organisational Achievements” category for the organisation’s commitment to excellence and sustainability, as well as its innovative policies and frameworks that have resulted in the identification of over 50 innovative projects.
DEWA is the only entity worldwide to win this category in the second round of the award in 2022, surpassing 988 entities from 16 countries.
DEWA scored 94 percent in the evaluation conducted by the International Council for Excellence according to the Baldrige model.

Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, was pleased with this global achievement, which adds to DEWA’s record of world-leading awards and achievements, making it one of the best and most efficient utilities in the world.
Mr. Al Tayer commented that DEWA’s surpassing other prominent global entities underlines its position as one of the most distinguished utilities in the world.
In addition to its focus on excellence, the organization’s commitment to sustainability also contributed to the award through its range of KPIs and goals for 2030 and 2050.

The organization’s efforts to consolidate economic, social, and environmental aspects have resulted in a cumulative efficiency improvement of 37.63 percent and a reduction of 73 million tons of CO2 emissions between 2006 and 2021.
Mr. Waleed bin Salman, executive vice president of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, emphasised that DEWA spares no effort to achieve excellence in all fields and levels.
DEWA won 23 prestigious regional and international awards from the beginning of the year until the end of November 2022, bringing the total number of awards from 2015 until the end of November 2022 to 407 awards, including 68 local, 69 regional, and 270 international awards.
