Dubai: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will organise the 25th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) from November 15 to 17, 2023, under the theme ‘At the forefront of sustainability’ at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The event is being held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
According to Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, the 2023 WETEX and DSS have notable momentum as they coincide with the ‘Year of Sustainability’ in the UAE. The event is expected to attract an exceptional turnout, especially with the UAE’s preparations to host COP28 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at Dubai Expo City in November.
DEWA will also organise the first Middle East and North Africa Solar Conference in 2023 in conjunction with the exhibition. This will attract additional experts and researchers specialising in clean and renewable energy. The conference will be the first scientific and technical conference in the region specialising in photovoltaic systems.
WETEX and DSS are significant events in the global sustainability calendar as they are the largest in the region in energy, water, green development, sustainability, and related sectors. The exhibition showcases the efforts of the UAE and Dubai in the field of renewable and clean energy and the continuous achievements that make Dubai a global model for protecting natural resources, achieving sustainability, and having a green economy.
The event will also feature specialised seminars and panel discussions where several international experts and specialists will exchange ideas on sustainability-related topics.
