Dubai: Dewa has showcased a range of future-ready projects at the 10th edition of the Knowledge Summit, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The summit is organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and will be held on 19th and 20th November 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme ‘Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities.’
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa, stated that, “We support the vision of our wise leadership to transform Dubai into a city of the future and enhance its position as a global hub based on the knowledge economy. At DEWA, we believe that innovation, science and knowledge are the pillars that elevate human potential.”
“They are essential for empowering national talent and equipping them with the necessary tools to shape a sustainable future. The Knowledge Summit is a major global platform that highlights the most prominent efforts to drive the knowledge economy and sustainable development, empowering individuals and societies alike,” Al Tayer added.

During the exhibition, Dewa is presenting several landmark initiatives that reflect its commitment to clean energy and innovation. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park remains the organization’s flagship project. As the world’s largest single-site solar park based on the independent power producer model, it currently provides 3,860 megawatts (MW) of production capacity.
Clean energy now represents 21.5 percent of Dewa’s installed network capacity. By 2030, the solar park’s total capacity will surpass 8,000 MW, significantly higher than the original 5,000 MW plan. This expansion is expected to reduce 8.5 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, compared to the existing 6.5 million tonnes.
Dewa is also emphasizing the role of its Research and Development Centre in enhancing Dubai’s global position in specialized research. The center focuses on solar technologies, smart grids, energy efficiency, water systems and capacity building.
It comprises 45 researchers, including nine PhD holders and 19 experts with master’s degrees, many of whom are Emirati professionals contributing to national knowledge-building. Since its establishment, the centre has produced 336 Scopus-indexed scientific papers in 2023 alone. It has also filed 57 patents, with 18 officially registered to date.
