Los Angeles: A high-level delegation led by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has visited Microsoft headquarters in Los Angeles.
The visit aims to explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing workforce productivity and advancing smart infrastructure.
The DEWA delegation met with key Microsoft executives, including Rajmohan Rajagopalan, General Manager of M365 Copilot and Apps, and Ricardo Villalobos, Principal Director of Industry Software Engineering.
Discussions revolved around integrating Microsoft’s AI solutions to enhance workforce efficiency and implementing AI-driven smart building technologies aligned with DEWA’s commitment to digital innovation and sustainability.
Al Tayer was accompanied by top DEWA officials, including Hussain Lootah, Executive Vice President of Transmission Power; Marwan bin Haider, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future; Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence; Loh Lim Huat, Chief Advisor of Generation; Ghanem Al Qassim, Senior Manager of Solar Energy; and Humaid Al Hammadi, Senior Manager of Special Projects.
Earlier this year, DEWA became the first government entity in the UAE to adopt Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Security Copilot, empowering employees with smart assistants to automate daily tasks and improve productivity. This initiative positions DEWA among the first utilities globally to embrace Copilot technology, reinforcing its strategy of leveraging disruptive technologies to achieve operational excellence and innovation.
During the visit, Microsoft demonstrated the capabilities of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which automates routine operations and streamlines workflows to enhance workforce efficiency.
The delegation explored Microsoft’s AI-powered smart building solutions, which optimize energy usage and promote sustainable environments.
