Sharjah: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Media Council, has inaugurated the second edition of the Sharjah Events Festival.
The event, which will be held at from December 8 to 11 at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre, is organised by the “Sharjah Events” website of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, under the slogan “See Sharjah.”
The festival features a number of artistic, creative, sports and heritage events, as well as free workshops on variety of topics such as arts, entrepreneurship, learning difficulties and music therapy for the benefit of festival visitors.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed visited the festival, which includes 32 governmental and private institutions in Sharjah, taking part in a variety of activities attracting both children and adults.
The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated a simulation laboratory for people with learning disabilities during his visit.
The laboratory was launched by the Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties as an attempt to bring innovation and digital transformation tools to support people with learning disabilities and their families.
The laboratory has special features such as “ability to move around the country and presents six experiences that simulate the reality of students with learning difficulties through virtual reality and three-dimensional technologies.”
The program also features the centre’s initiatives, projects, and services that are meant to help people with learning difficulties.
Sheikh Sultan also honored the entities participating in the festival at the end of the opening ceremony.
