Abu Dhabi: MAKTABA, the library management department of Abu Dhabi’s Culture and Tourism Department (DCT Abu Dhabi) has opened its Art Hub exhibition at the Khalifa Park Library (KPL), which will be on display until 25th November.
The exhibition, which features multimedia works by twenty-four UAE-based emerging artists spanning visual arts, crafts, and design, is part of MAKTABA‘s attempts to leverage and contribute to the emirate’s culture and its artistic environment.
The Art Hub exhibition serves as a platform for connecting artists with the public, with a variety of programming scheduled throughout the events, providing the community with inspiring artistic and cultural experiences while also allowing participating artists to showcase their work and creative abilities.
The exhibition will also benefit the community by emphasizing that knowledge and learning encompass more than the written word, which is part of MAKTABA’s recognition of the importance of creativity and the arts in fostering engaged and intellectually curious young minds.
KPL Art Hub’s five core artists include Mr. Ameera Ahmed Al Zaabi, the exhibition curator, Mr. Saud Al Ahmad, Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Dhali’i, Ms. Maryam Issa Al Rumaithi, and Ms. Alia Khalifa Muhammad, who will be exhibiting their work during the event.
A public program of events and workshops, offered by various participating artists, will support the exhibition. Several artistic workshops and sessions tailored for children will be held weekly throughout the exhibition, with young visitors getting the chance to imagine scenarios for children’s stories, redraw world-famous paintings, craft toys, design clay models and create sustainable products.
