Abu Dhabi: The Department of Community Development (DCD) has launched the registration for the Emirati Family Growth Program, an initiative focused on promoting the stability, well-being, and growth of Emirati families. The program, consisting of several initiatives, aims to empower families with tools and resources to foster resilience and strengthen bonds.
The announcement took place at a special event attended by government partners, media, and senior officials. The initiatives, created in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, offer a comprehensive approach to supporting families at different stages.
Comprehensive Support for Family Development
The Emirati Family Growth Program offers a range of initiatives targeting key areas of family development.
Facilitated Marriage Loan: Provides interest-free loans up to AED 150,000 ( $40,839.05) to cover wedding costs. Couples with two children during the repayment period and who maintain family stability for at least five years receive benefits such as partial loan forgiveness.
Maternity Leave Support: Extends maternity leave for Emirati women in the private sector, matching government employee leave, to ensure work-life balance and time for newborn care.
Home Visit Service: Offers personalized guidance for new parents, assisting with early parenthood, child development, and overall family well-being.
Rental Assistance for Newlyweds: Provides up to AED 75,000 ( $20,419.28) annually in rental aid for newlyweds, renewable for up to four years, to support housing stability.
Loan Partial Deduction: Reduces housing loans by AED 30,000 ($8,167.78) upon the birth of the fourth and fifth child, and by AED 40,000 ($10,890.37) for the sixth child, easing financial pressures for larger families.
Extended Housing Loan Repayment: Allows couples to extend housing loan repayments by up to nine years after having their fourth, fifth, or sixth child, reducing financial strain.
Partnerships with Local Experts
To ensure the effectiveness of the program, the DCD has partnered with various local organizations and specialists in fields like education, health, and financial planning. These collaborations are designed to provide tailored support to participating families, offering practical solutions that meet their unique needs.
His Excellency Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of DCD, said that, “We are delighted to launch registration for the Numou initiatives, which underscore our dedication to building stable and cohesive families, the bedrock of a prosperous society. These initiatives offer practical solutions to support young Emiratis in overcoming economic challenges and achieving family stability.”
Registrations Open
Emirati families are encouraged to register for the program and benefit from its wide range of resources and tools aimed at improving their overall well-being. The initiative is a key part of the government’s broader efforts to enhance family life and social cohesion in the UAE.
At the event, the Numou program , meaning “growth” in Arabic, revealed its new logo. The logo symbolizes the program’s dedication to supporting families from marriage through child-rearing, fostering authentic Emirati values. It represents family unity and growth, reflecting the mission to build a cohesive community and contribute to a sustainable future.
