Abu Dhabi: The Department of Community Development (DCD) has received a delegation from the Riyadh Region Municipality as part of fostering cooperation with partners at local, regional, and international levels.
The delegation was received by Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the DCD, along with Mr. Hamad Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the DCD, Mr. Abdulla Al Ameri, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, and several executive directors of the department.
The meeting focused on Abu Dhabi’s social sector agenda, policies, and strategies, which showcase the department’s commitment to working with authorities to deliver high-quality social services to various groups of society and ensure a dignified life for all.
The DCD further highlighted the quality-of-life questionnaire, a key measurement tool used to gather community members’ opinions on various topics and social issues.
In addition, the department reviewed the social sector’s achievements over the past three years and discussed the most significant social challenges in Abu Dhabi and the solutions developed by the department in partnership with other organizations.
The Saudi delegation was briefed on the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority and the role it plays in improving the standard of living by supporting families who fall below dignified living standards. The efforts made to empower individuals and financial guidance programs aimed at enhancing awareness among program beneficiaries were also discussed.
The DCD further noted the ambitious role of the third sector in Abu Dhabi and the plans in place to build a sustainable third sector that contributes to the Emirate’s economic and social development.
The visit of the Saudi delegation to the DCD contributed to highlighting the best social practices and the latest trends in the Saudi social sector, in line with the Riyadh Municipality’s vision and mission to promote sustainable urban development, provide high-quality services, and build effective partnerships towards a vibrant society.
