Muscat: A low-pressure system that developed over the Arabian Sea has intensified into a tropical cyclone named ‘Asna,’ currently situated 920 kilometers off the coast of Oman, the Civil Aviation Authority reported. The cyclone, which has been named by Pakistan, is moving towards the Oman Sea, with wind speeds estimated between 30 to 40 knots. The nearest rain clouds are approximately 760 kilometers away.
As the system continues to strengthen, the weather monitoring center has predicted heavy rain and strong winds in Oman starting early next week. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow official weather advisories to ensure safety.
