Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will begin an official visit to Norway on 6th of October. Sheikh Khaled will hold talks with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. and explore ways to advance co-operation across new, developing and high-growth sectors.
Sheikh Khaled will also meet Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon Magnus.
Diplomatic relations between the UAE and Norway were established in 1974. Currently, around 150 Norwegian companies operate in the UAE across sectors like oil and gas, maritime transport, and advanced technology. Both countries have a mutual visa exemption agreement for passport holders, and since September 2014, Emirates Airlines has offered daily direct flights between the two nations.
Earlier this week, Sheikh Khaled concluded an official visit to Qatar. He held talks with Sheikh Tamim, Emir of Qatar, and discussed ways to enhance co-operation across strategic sectors.
Sheikh Khaled also met Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and highlighted the importance of deepening collaboration in several areas.
Last month, Sheikh Khaled made an official visit to India, where he oversaw the signing of agreements between UAE and Indian entities. These agreements further expanded the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which was originally established in May 2022.
There was a series of high-level meetings this year aimed at further cementing long-standing ties between these countries.
