Addis Ababa: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, representing President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the World Without Hunger Conference. The conference brings together global leaders and creators to address urgent food security matters and to drive efforts toward sustainable solutions to hunger worldwide.
Sheikh Khaled was received at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport by Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed. An official reception ceremony featured the national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia, followed by a protection of honor inspection by His Highness and the Prime Minister, underscoring the diplomatic significance of the visit.
In a short meeting held in the airport’s VIP lounge, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed sounded warm greetings to Sheikh Khaled and his delegation. Both leaders reaffirmed the strong partnership between the UAE and Ethiopia and examined the potential for enhancing collaboration in sectors that would benefit both nations. The Crown Prince highlighted the UAE’s commitment to expanding ties with Ethiopia, particularly in areas that support financial and social development.
Leading the UAE delegation, Sheikh Khaled is bound by prominent Emirati officials, including Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Mohamed Salem Al Rashdi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ethiopia; and Omran Anwar Sharaf Al Hashemi, Assistant Foreign Minister of Advanced Sciences and Technology.
