Abu Dhabi: The Creative Media Authority (CMA) has unveiled its latest initiative, the Creative Community Projects (CCP), designed to nurture homegrown creative talent and showcase Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural heritage through the lens of young Emiratis and regional youth.
The initiative aligns with CMA’s mission to establish Abu Dhabi as a global hub for creative media. By fostering direct engagement between emerging creatives and industry leaders, CCP aims to provide unparalleled opportunities for real-world experience and portfolio development.
CCP offers young talents a chance to collaborate on projects aligned with key events in the UAE’s cultural calendar. Participants will conceptualize and produce content under the mentorship of experts from CMA’s network of over 800 companies in the creative sector.
The dynamic exchange enables industry leaders to gain insights into authentic regional narratives while equipping youth with essential skills in production, post-production, public relations, social media, and behind-the-scenes operations.
The program’s inaugural phase engaged 10 members of the Creative Lab Community to produce content for Commemoration Day, set to premiere on CMA’s social channels on 30th November.
The second project, involving 13 creatives, focuses on Eid Al Etihad, showcasing the UAE’s 53rd National Day celebrations.
Mohamed Dobay, Acting Director-General of CMA, highlighted that, “CCP is integral to CMA’s vision of developing local talent by immersing them in real industry projects. It ensures young creatives gain hands-on experience while contributing to the narratives of our nation.”
Salwa Al Hadhrami, Creative Content Lead at CMA and the visionary behind CCP, emphasized that, “CCP gives young creatives, like myself, the platform to showcase their perspectives while refining their skills alongside seasoned industry professionals. By enabling youth to tell Emirati stories, we amplify their voices and cultivate a new generation of creative leaders.”
The UAE National Day video, created by 13 young creatives from the Creative Lab Community, embodies the nation’s achievements while celebrating its cultural roots.
CMA remains committed to fostering talent through initiatives like CCP and platforms such as Arab Film Studio and Creative Lab, offering training programmes and internships to prepare aspiring professionals for successful careers in media.
