Dubai: The ‘Clean Up UAE’ initiative, a nationwide campaign organized by non-governmental professional working group Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) received a much-needed boost as the officials, volunteers and employees of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) or Awqaf offered their services for the cause.
GAIAE’s participation was led by its Chairman and Director-General, Dr. Mohammed Matar Salem Al Kaabi.
During the drive, GAIAE voiced its deep gratitude to Emirates Environmental Group, the organizing body, reiterating that such initiatives help cement the lofty national values in the minds and souls of people and prove that the nation is a top priority that everyone is bound to consider.
On the occasion, Awqaf also highlighted the superior position the UAE has attained across the globe for being able to become a model green oasis greeted with gasps of admiration worldwide.
GAIAE expressed its keen interest to take part and support all the campaigns aiming to protect the environment and nature and preserve public cleanliness, emphasizing that such initiatives are in line with the body’s mission and goals.
