California: After two months of distress and waiting, California couple Benny and Susan Anguiano were overjoyed to reunite with their beloved cat, Rain Beauvu. The couple had been heartbroken after losing Rain Beauvu in Yellowstone National Park. They were anxious, fearing they might never find their cat due to the vast desert area surrounding the park.
However, as summer came to an end, the couple received heartwarming news. An animal welfare group informed them that Rain Beauvu had been found in Roseville, California, nearly 800 miles (1,287 kilometers) from Yellowstone. This reunion allowed Benny and Susan to reconnect with their lost cat.
In June, Benny and Susan had gone camping in the national park. Rain Beauvu, startled by something, ran into the woods. Despite hoping the cat would return during the trip, it didn’t happen, and the couple had to head home in despair.
“That was the hardest day, because I felt like I had abandoned him,” Susan Anguiano shared. A woman found Rain Beauvu standing alone on a street and took the cat to a shelter. The shelter identified the cat through its microchip and informed the couple.
How Rain Beauvu traveled the 800 miles from Yellowstone to Roseville remains a mystery. The couple hopes that by sharing their story, someone may come forward with more details. It is believed that Rain Beauvu walked such a great distance searching for home.
