Abu Dhabi: “Extreme Weekends”, a thrilling spectacle for motorcycle enthusiasts, kicked off at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area.
The annual event, which draws a large crowd, is expected to be another favourite with visitors this year. Fans of the motor cross and car drifting sports were welcomed on the show’s opening day by stunning stunts and routines done by professional motorcyclists from across the world and car drifters.
The Extreme Weekends will take place in a specially designed space behind Al Wathba Market on the festival grounds, which has been transformed into a top-notch stage for extreme sports performances. The customised tracks were created using the most outstanding safety standards and accuracy to meet the needs of hosting such an event.
Every week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for an entire month, fans of Extreme Weekends will be treated to an exhilarating experience and amazing performances.
The Sheikh Zayed Festival offers a wide range of family-friendly activities as well as a number of cultural and entertaining ones, including the Global Civilizations Pavilions, Memory of the Nation, Agricultural Oasis Exhibition, Fun Fair City, Glow and Flower Garden, as well as other events, competitions, raffle draws, and more.
