Sharjah: The American University of Sharjah (AUS) has launched the Rashid Bin Humaid Athletic Scholarship Fund. The initiative marks the university’s inaugural sports scholarship reaffirming the commitment to promoting both academic and athletic excellence among students.
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS, emphasized that, “The Rashid Bin Humaid Athletic Scholarship Fund is a testament to our dedication to nurturing students who excel both in the classroom and in sports. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman and Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, highlighted that, “This initiative aims to establish a fund of AED 5 million (1.36 million) to support students with exceptional athletic and academic abilities. It is crucial for institutions to foster students’ talents and skills, helping them achieve significant accomplishments across multiple fields.”
