Sharjah: American University of Sharjah (AUS) has partnered with NAMA Women Advancement Establishment to launch the H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi Chair in Women’s Leadership. This initiative, backed by an AED15 million grant from NAMA, marks the first endowed chair in the UAE dedicated to women’s leadership and development.
Named in honor of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of NAMA, the chair recognizes her contributions to women’s education. It aims to provide an environment where women can access knowledge, support, and resources, fostering their role as equal contributors to society.
H.H. Sheikha Jawaher emphasized the value of investing in women, stating, “This partnership with AUS is another milestone in Sharjah’s efforts to advance women in education. We will continue to support initiatives that promote the benefits of education for women.”
AUS President Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi highlighted the initiative’s alignment with AUS’s commitment to empowerment, stating, “The Sheikha Jawaher Chair has the potential to inspire generations of women leaders. AUS is dedicated to building an inclusive environment where women can excel, driving research, education, and outreach to elevate the status of women in the UAE and beyond”.
