Abu Dhabi: Aldar Properties (Aldar) has signed a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy (ADGMA), the knowledge arm of Abu Dhabi’s international financial centre, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), as part of the company’s ambitious goal to provide 1,000 job opportunities for UAE citizens by 2026.
Aldar has hired more than 260 Emiratis across the Group since the NAFIS initiative was launched in September 2021. The partnership is a part of a Memorandum of Understanding that Aldar and ADGMA recently inked. Its goals include enhancing both organisations’ contributions to the UAE’s knowledge-based economy and fostering the next generation of private sector business leaders.
The ADGMA program includes training modules on interpersonal skills, teamwork, workplace culture, career growth and management, and the value of networking. Participants will have the chance to obtain on-the-job training within the Aldar Group after the training is complete.
Mr. Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, COO of ADGM and Managing Director of ADGM Academy, shared that, “In line with the UAE leadership’s vision and focus on investing in the future, ADGM Academy is pleased to share the responsibility that we carry collectively, as we continue to build the great nation that is the UAE. This collaboration with Aldar is another step to ensure our Emirati nationals have the necessary skill sets to not only meet future market demands but also focus on our expatriate population to work on their own personal and professional learning and development journeys.”
UAE citizens presently make up 40.8 percent of Aldar’s workforce, and 62 percent of them are employees under the age of 35. Aldar’s Senior Management team is made up entirely of Emiratis, and they are the CEOs of Aldar Group, Aldar Investment, and Aldar Projects. Including the Strategy and Transformation, Sustainability, Marketing and Communications, Procurement, IT, Commercial, Portfolio Management, Investment, Retail, Design & Master Planning, Finance, and People, Culture and Performance departments, 35.6 percent of department head positions are held by UAE nationals.
