Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) to promote collaboration across various cultural and intellectual fields, with a focus on enhancing youth engagement.
The MoU will enable the Foundation to offer specialized training programs, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), to ALC members, aimed at improving their skills and capabilities.
The partnership will also foster collaboration in the field of translation, with talented Emirati graduates from MBRF’s Translation Program contributing to the ALC’s Kalima Translation Project.
In addition, the two organizations will cooperate to nominate exceptional participants from MBRF’s creative content development programs for the Centre’s literary awards and research grants, supporting Arabic content and creativity.
The collaboration extends to the publishing sector, where both entities will work together on print and digital publishing, providing integrated services such as typesetting, translation, design, and printing, all while adhering to international quality standards and competitive prices.
The MoU was signed during the ‘Arabian Days’ Festival by Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of ALC, and Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF. Dr. bin Tamim emphasized that this strategic partnership represents a major milestone in promoting youth development and offering opportunities to refine skills across various cultural and creative fields.
Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, highlighted the significance of empowering individuals and enhancing their capabilities for comprehensive human development. He explained that this partnership would help develop Emirati human resources, foster collaboration in translation and intellectual creativity, and support both digital and print Arabic content.
This initiative aligns with the shared goal of positioning the Arabic language as a key pillar in cultural and intellectual communication.
The MoU will enable the ALC to showcase its programs at MBRF’s events, while MBRF will highlight its initiatives at the ALC’s cultural events, including book fairs, festivals, and the International Congress of Arabic Publishing and Creative Industries.
The collaboration also extends to enriching Arabic content on MBRF’s Digital Knowledge Hub platform and launching a joint initiative called ‘Knowledge Break,’ featuring talks hosted by Abu Dhabi.
Additionally, the partnership strengthens efforts in the Bel Arabi and Youth Knowledge Forum initiatives, which aim to empower Emirati and Arab youth and support the Arabic language through collaborative programs.
