Sharjah: Al Majaz Amphitheatre, a division of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau has put forth an open invitation to participate in a new project called “Initiatives” to encourage and promote upcoming young talents and University students in the UAE with specializations in art, design, and architecture.
This Open Call has invited pupils to submit their best creative ideas and designs for an installation to be built in the middle of Al Majaz Island in Sharjah, by 14th January 2023. The winning project will be selected in March 2023.
Al Majaz Amphitheatre is one of the most well-known artistic and cultural sites in the Emirate of Sharjah and the region. Thousands of individuals come to see its many events, musical performances, and other cultural activities, including prominent celebrities and influencers every year.

Ms. Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), commented on the Open Call and cited that, the initiative is part of Al Majaz Amphitheatre’s plans to support new creative talents and promising students in the country.
The winning idea will be adopted as a stunning memorial at the entrance to the Al Majaz Amphitheatre, immortalising it as a symbol of innovation in the UAE with the name of the participant and their University next to the winning design. The winner will be announced in various media.
The SGMB Director asked all Students of Art, Design, and Architecture from different Universities all across the UAE to take part in the competition that encourages their abilities to let their imaginations run wild and propose their ideas for an art installation that Sharjah would be embracing.

Applications for the Open Call may be submitted by sending an overview of the proposed design installation and information about the applicant to the official website in a specific file, in accordance with the requirements listed on the Al Majaz Amphitheatre website.
