AJMAN: Ajman’s ruler, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, a member of the Supreme Council, has visited the Al Tallah Festival 2023 for Purebred Arabian Camels and Camel Beauty Pageant, being held at the Al Tallah camel racecourse in Ajman from 1st to 6th January 2023.
Sheikh Humaid praised the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for patronaging and monitoring all heritage festivals. The ruler claimed that the Al Tallah festival has been held annually for the past 12 years and that such events inspire people to uphold the camel-breeding customs and legacy of the Emirati people.
Sheikh Humaid commended the support that camel racing has received from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the emirates.

The ruler continued that the UAE’s leadership is keen to preserve the nation’s heritage in accordance with the directives of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his conviction that upholding the nation’s traditions is crucial. Camel beauty contests are a part of the traditional heritage of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, Sheikh Humaid further added.
The exceptional participation of individuals from the UAE and the GCC region, which highlights their commitment to maintaining the region’s history and customs, was then praised by the ruler. Sheikh Humaid, who was accompanied by a number of sheikhs and senior officials, thanked everyone for contributing to the success of the festival.
