Ajman: Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman, in collaboration with the United Nations Global Compact Foundation in the UAE, has organized a workshop titled “Accelerating Sustainability: Addressing Sustainability Challenges and Sustainable Development Goals.”
The event concentrated on industrial facilities in the emirate, striving to support the UAE’s sustainability objectives during the Year of Sustainability.
Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, underlined the importance of regular dialogues with industrial facilities to facilitate effective strategies aligned with sustainable development goals. Al Hosani stated that, “Our joint efforts with various organizations aim to address sustainability challenges and turn them into possibilities for success in achieving our goals.”
Al Hosani emphasized that the workshop is essential to the Department’s strategy for achieving climate neutrality and enhancing air quality. He called for greater cooperation between government entities and the industrial sector to fulfill the sustainable development goals. Al Hosani added that, “The Department strives to foster collaboration and engagement with experts in environmental sustainability, showing Ajman’s dedication to promoting sustainability and aiding industrial facilities in reaching environmental goals.”
The workshop featured several prominent speakers, including Joelle Jamal, CEO of Al Mithaq International Group in the UAE, and Farzana Hussein, among others. Representatives from the Municipality and Planning Department and the Public Health and Environment Sector also attended, highlighting the importance of this initiative in advancing sustainability efforts within the emirate.
