Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB), a leading shipbuilder specializing in naval and commercial vessels, has announced the launch of a state-of-the-art 92-metre Corvette. The powerful vanguard vessel, designed by ADSB in the UAE, was introduced during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2023) in Malaysia.
The versatile multi-domain vessel, designed, constructed, and equipped by ADSB, is specifically tailored for a wide range of coastal missions. It boasts impressive features such as a helicopter deck and hangar, the capability to accommodate unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations, two rigid hull inflatable boats, advanced combat systems, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and a comprehensive array of countermeasures.
With its stealth attributes and ballistic protection, this cutting-edge Corvette offers advanced surveillance and safeguarding capabilities in the air, surface, and EW domains within the near-shore theatre. Powered by combined diesel and diesel (CODAD) engines, it achieves a remarkable top speed of 28 knots and exhibits an endurance of over 4,500 nautical miles at cruising speed.
Mr. David Massey, CEO of ADSB, stated that, “Presenting the 92-metre corvette in time for LIMA 2023 marks a significant achievement for us as we reaffirm our commitment to the Southeast Asian markets and expand our product portfolio to meet the challenges and requirements of navies and coastguards around the world.”
“ADSB is demonstrating remarkable progress in designing together with its strategic partners, building, and exporting world-class vessels, and we look forward to presenting its capabilities and engaging with prospective customers during LIMA,” the CEO further added.
Visitors attending LIMA have the opportunity to explore the offerings of EDGE, including ADSB, at stand A07 located at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in Langkawi, Malaysia.
