Abu Dhabi, UAE: Abu Dhabi Developmental Quadrant (ADQ) has announced the launch of Q Mobility, a new initiative designed to revolutionize transportation services in the capital city. The establishment of Q Mobility marks a significant step in ADQ’s ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance the city’s transport infrastructure.
The company will also manage, operate and develop the Abu Dhabi toll system DARB and the Abu Dhabi parking system Mawaqif, under the regulatory supervision of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), represented by Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility).
Q Mobility will focus on integrating advanced technologies and innovative solutions to improve the efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability of Abu Dhabi’s transport network. The initiative aims to address growing demands for more effective public transportation and reduce traffic congestion, aligning with the city’s broader goals of environmental sustainability and urban development.
The new entity will oversee a range of projects, including the expansion of electric and autonomous vehicle services, the development of smart transportation systems, and the enhancement of existing public transit options. One of the key goals of Q Mobility is to create a seamless and user-friendly transportation experience that leverages cutting-edge technology to provide real-time updates and optimize travel routes.
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM) welcomed the launch, highlighting its potential to significantly transform the city’s transport landscape.
The establishment of Q Mobility is expected to drive innovation in Abu Dhabi’s transport sector and set a new standard for urban mobility in the region. The first phase of projects under Q Mobility is scheduled to roll out in early 2025.
