Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is scheduled to take place from May 22–28, 2023, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The event is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and will showcase the literary and cultural heritage of the Middle East.
The book fair will bring together celebrated authors, thought leaders, and publishers from around the world to strengthen ties between the Arab and international publishing communities. The 2023 book fair will focus on sustainability in line with the UAE’s declaration of 2023 as the ‘Year of Sustainability.’
The event will feature initiatives, events, and seminars highlighting the best global sustainability practices in the publishing industry.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, the fair is a leading literary event in the Arab world and will provide a platform for global dialogue. The fair will feature talks by distinguished Arab and international speakers, including renowned authors, artists, academics, and digital content creators.
The event will cater to a diverse audience, ranging from professionals to consumers and families, with five primary program types: cultural, creative arts, children and youth, specialised professional, and partner programs.
The book fair will include a range of cultural sessions such as panel discussions, debates, seminars, and poetry evenings featuring famous personalities from the worlds of thought, literature, and media.
Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to meet their favourite authors and have their books signed. The event will thus provide a unique opportunity for the exchange of ideas as well as the promotion of literary and cultural heritage.
