Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s (ADJD) Forensic and Electronic Sciences Centre has been awarded the National Organisation of Forensic Physicians’ (NAME) international accreditation for its Forensic Medicine Department.
This recognition marks the ADJD as the first centre in the Middle East to receive this certification and the third worldwide outside the United States, following Canada and Singapore.
Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, highlighted that this accreditation reflects the UAE’s commitment to developing a world-class judicial system. He emphasized that this achievement not only demonstrates the ADJD’s leadership in forensic medicine but also enhances the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s global standing in the judicial field.
The accreditation recognizes the Centre’s adherence to the highest international standards in forensic services, supporting the advancement of criminal justice in the region.
Counsellor Al Abri also noted that this certification complements the Centre’s existing accreditations in criminal and electronic evidence examinations. Additionally, the Centre’s chemical laboratory has renewed its accreditation for a second term, four years after initially earning recognition for its work in examining narcotics, toxins, and seized items.
