Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has entered into a strategic partnership with DiDi Autonomous Driving, a subsidiary of global smart mobility technology platform DiDi Global Inc., to enhance the emirate’s Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster.
The collaboration aims to position Abu Dhabi as a regional leader in next-generation mobility innovation, reinforcing its growing status as a hub for advanced transportation technologies.
Under this partnership, DiDi Autonomous Driving will officially join the SAVI cluster in the UAE, marking a significant milestone in the cluster’s development. Both parties will collaborate on key areas, including autonomous driving technology research and application, AI talent development, and ecosystem building.
Together, ADIO and DiDi plan to accelerate the transformation of Abu Dhabi into a smart mobility and sustainable transportation ecosystem and gradually expand their cooperation across the wider Middle East.

His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, said that, “Our collaboration with DiDi Autonomous Driving marks a defining moment in shaping the future of transport. DiDi Autonomous Driving is a world-leading autonomous driving company. And Abu Dhabi has now become its new home. We are proud to welcome DiDi Autonomous Driving to the SAVI cluster as it scales its autonomous driving technologies across the region.”
“The Middle East is a key pillar in DiDi Autonomous Driving’s global strategy.
