Abu Dhabi: Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) will introduce a special ‘Falcon Badge’ during its 21st edition, scheduled for 31st August to 8th September 2024 at ADNEC Centre, Abu Dhabi.
This badge will qualify falcons purchased at the exhibition, associated auctions, and events to compete in new race rounds, which will be introduced for badge holders in four falcon categories: Gyr Pure, Gyr Qarmousha, Gyr Shaheen, and Taba. These rounds will take place under the upcoming President’s Cup Falcon Competition 2024-2025, overseen by the Abu Dhabi Falconers Club.
Majid Ali Al Mansoori, Secretary-General of the Emirates Falconers Club, emphasized that the launch of this badge aligns with the leadership’s vision to support national events that blend modernity and tradition, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading hub for creativity in sports and heritage activities.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, noted that the badge reflects the leadership’s commitment to advancing falconry in the UAE. The initiative aims to preserve and enhance the heritage and competitiveness of falconry, both regionally and internationally.
Sultan Al Mahmoud, Executive Director at Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, expressed pride in the strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers Club and ADNEC Group. He highlighted the badge’s role in elevating the exhibition’s competitiveness and reputation on a global scale, while also supporting various sectors connected to falconry.
The teams at Abu Dhabi Falconers Club, in cooperation with ADNEC Group, will work to ensure the success of future badge rounds under the President’s Cup, contributing to the promotion and importance of falconry.
