Abu Dhabi: The highly anticipated VVIP Falcon Auction, a premier event for falcon enthusiasts, is set to take place during the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2024). Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and President of the Emirates Falconers Club, the auction will run at ADNEC Abu Dhabi from today to 8th September.
This year’s auction will offer a unique opportunity for participants to bid on rare and valuable falcons, either in person or through an advanced electronic platform, allowing global participation. The auction will be held over four days—31st August, 1st September, 7th September, and 8th September—between 11:00 and 21:00, with up to three distinct falcons displayed each day.
A secure electronic platform will facilitate international bidding, providing a seamless experience for bidders worldwide. A dedicated room at the exhibition will showcase the live display of the birds, ensuring transparency and engagement. To participate, potential bidders must place a deposit of AED50,000. Additionally, for the first time, online bidding will be available for up to 10 top-class falcons, with comprehensive details provided on the virtual platform.
On 8th September, preceding the final auction, a Falcon Beauty Contest will be held, where participants will present their falcons to a panel of judges.
The VVIP Falcon Auction highlights the UAE’s commitment to preserving falcon breeding and environmental conservation. ADIHEX continues to serve as a crucial platform for showcasing regional heritage and fostering business relationships in the hunting and equestrian sectors.
