Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced the launch of its School Break Camps Program, designed to provide students with a wide range of enriching activities during school breaks. The initiative aims to sustain the development of students beyond the classroom, offering a variety of camps that foster creativity, sports, science, and more.
Starting on 16th December, the program will feature camps in diverse areas including arts, sports, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM), Arabic literacy, culinary arts, and environmental education. ADEK’s continued dedication to student growth is evident, as the program builds on the success of earlier summer camps and aims to create a regular pipeline of possibilities for students throughout the year.
In partnership with leading institutions like the Louvre Abu Dhabi, ADEK will offer unique learning experiences such as the Art Lab Camp, where students will create art motivated by the Suhail Star and Khaleeji mythology, and the Space Camp, which focuses on scientific exploration and creative teamwork.
For sports enthusiasts, ADEK will host two-day training camps in football, basketball, and swimming, in collaboration with Manchester City, Sport 360, and Storm Academy. Exceptional athletes will be invited to ADEK’s talent identification program, where they will train under elite coaches, including those from Manchester City, Jr. NBA, and Olympian Sarra Lajnef.
Aspiring chefs can join the Culinary School Camp by ICCA, a multisensory program that covers cooking, pastry, and food photography, helping students sharpen their skills in mathematics, chemistry, and visual arts. The Arabic literacy-focused camps include the Arabic Reading Camp by Almubarakah Foundation, aimed at fostering a love for reading, and the Beit Arabi Winter Discovery Camp, which teaches younger students about Arabic culture through language, drama, and creative activities.
For those passionate about sustainability, the Environmental Heroes Camp by Gracia Farm will propose hands-on activities such as eco-tours, recycling, and conservation projects, assigning students to engage in environmental stewardship.
The program will also cater to high school students with specialized STEM camps focusing on AI, machine learning, and programing. Camps like the AI for Tomorrow Camp by 42 Abu Dhabi and other AI-related offerings by top universities, including Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, and NYU Abu Dhabi, strive to equip students with essential skills in AI and data science, preparing them for future success.
Through these diverse offerings, ADEK’s School Break Camps Program ensures that students have access to valuable learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, equipping them for future academic and career attainments.
