Abu Dhabi: In a groundbreaking initiative to raise awareness about food security and safety, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has partnered with SpaceToon, a leading content provider for family-oriented entertainment.
The collaboration has resulted in a series of six short cartoon episodes, designed to engage children with important messages about agriculture, food safety, and sustainability.
The animated episodes, each lasting between four to five minutes, will air on SpaceToon at Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba till 28 February 2025.
These educational stories are crafted to present vital concepts in a child-friendly manner, with a strong focus on issues like food waste reduction, responsible consumption, water conservation, and food safety on family trips.

Topics covered in the series include the National Food Loss and Waste Initiative (Ne’ma), the benefits of drip irrigation, understanding food labels, allergies, animal health, and the link between animal welfare and human health.
Each episode is set in familiar Emirati cultural contexts, with local characters and environments that children can relate to, which helps reinforce the educational messages.
Badr Hassan Al Shehhi, Director of Communication and Community Engagement at ADAFSA, stated that, “This collaboration with SpaceToon is an exciting opportunity to instill values of sustainability and healthy nutrition in children from an early age. By presenting these important topics in an engaging way, we hope to nurture a generation that understands food security and makes informed food choices.”

ADAFSA previously published educational comics, which were well-received at the 2024 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and has already distributed over 150,000 copies of educational booklets aimed at children.
