Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) has helped 40 UAE nationals, who trained at Skills Hub, find jobs at five top private healthcare companies. Skills Hub is supported by the Abu Dhabi Government.
The announcement is the result of joint ventures between ACTVET and various healthcare organizations, including Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, M42, Burjeel Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Response Plus Holding. With the aim of equipping participants with the skills required for the sustainable growth and development of the United Arab Emirates, ACTVET’s Skills Hub initiative offers customized training courses and programs to satisfy the demands of the labor market both now and in the future.
Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, the Director General of the center, stated that, “We have witnessed a strong collaboration between the government and the private sector, working as one team to qualify national cadres in the healthcare sector, thus providing them with the opportunity to become active contributors to the advancement of Abu Dhabi as well as in the enhancement of the quality and leadership of healthcare services. “We appreciate the efforts of our partners who have shown their readiness to serve the community through these agreements, which we hope will open the doors to more partnerships within the private sector companies in the field of healthcare services, as well as in other key areas including manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and others, paving a way to inspire Emirati youth to pursue technical and vocational careers.”
The Skills Hub project intends to support government programs to develop talent for future industries, increase citizens’ employment in sophisticated tech sectors, and improve career prospects in the healthcare industry. This helps to support the development of a knowledge-based, innovative, and Fourth Industrial Revolution-based national economy that is varied and sustainable.
The initiative also focuses on critical competencies that are essential to the nation’s long-term and sustainable development. These include Autonomous Mobile Robotics, Automobile Technology, Industrial Control, Health and Social Care, Electrical Installations, Electronics, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, and Aircraft Maintenance.
The training solutions provided help participants develop their character, enhance their skill set, and maximize their preparation for the labor market while also deepening their comprehension of academic knowledge, particularly in practical and applied disciplines. This is accomplished by placing a strong focus on interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
