Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) has been recognised for its contribution to the development of sports in the Middle East and the UAE, winning four awards at the Sports Industry Awards 2023. The event, held at the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, was attended by several sports leaders, decision-makers, sponsors, and partners of sporting events in the region.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2022, organized by ADSC and hosted by Yas Links on Yas Island, won the Gold Award for Best Sponsorship Collaboration of the Year. The Triathlon World Championships Final held in November 2022, also organised by ADSC, won the Gold Award for Best Sports Event of the Year. The UAE Tour 2022, another ADSC event, won the Gold Award for Best Fan Engagement at a Professional Sports Event, while the fourth ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2022 won the Bronze Award for Best Sports Event of the Year.
Established in the Middle East in 2012, the Sports Industry Awards recognise the leaders, decision-makers, organisations, facilities, and campaigns that have contributed to the development of sports in the region. This year’s event, which marked the completion of the Sports Industry Contract, rewarded those who have distinguished themselves across various international tournaments hosted by the region.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2022 drew 132 top players from around the world and offered a prize fund worth AED29.38 million. The Triathlon World Championships Final Abu Dhabi 2022, sponsored by Daman and organised by ADSC in cooperation with the International Triathlon Federation, attracted 80 international federations, fans, and participants at all levels. The UAE Tour featured the participation of 20 professional teams from around the world, while the fourth ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2022 featured over 20,000 male and female runners competing across various distances.
