Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi is set to host a week-long global event aimed at Early Childhood Development (ECD) from 29th October to 2nd November 2024. The Abu Dhabi early childhood week is conducted under the assistance of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed, focusing on improving the early childhood agenda globally.
The event encourages the UAE’s commitment to improving the welfare and development of young children, which is organized under the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA). The program concentrates on intentional parenting, culture and identity, and sustainable, family-friendly cities.
This week follows the launch of the second edition of WED (World Early Childhood Development) Movement at COP28, an open movement that aims to bring together global experts, partners and disruptors for innovation to catalyze cross-sector change for early childhood development.
Key episodes during the week include the WED forum, ECD Innovation day, ECD research convening, The fair, and a variety of city-wide activities designed to develop knowledge-sharing, address future challenges, and deliver enhanced solutions for child development.
The event will address more than 25 sessions led by over 75 speakers, including global ECD experts, policymakers, and industry disruptors, alongside thousands of families participating in community activations.
Sana Mohammad Suhail, Director general of ECA stated that, “We are strategically investing in early childhood development to foster a generation equipped with the skills, resilience, and creativity necessary to lead the UAE into its new era of growth.”
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Chair of WED said that, “Early childhood development is a milestone of sustainable, long-term growth. Abu Dhabi early childhood week stands with the UAE’s commitment to ensuring every child can thrive.”
The week-long event is supported by various associates, including Mubadala investment company, ADQ, Aldar, and Erth hotel, Abu Dhabi.
The program showcases key activities such as the ECD innovation day on 29th October, the WED forum from 30th-31st October, and The fair from 31st October to 2nd November.
