Abu Dhabi: The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs has introduced its 2024–2028 Strategic Plan, designed to align with the Abu Dhabi Government’s vision and the UAE’s forward-looking strategies.
The comprehensive plan emphasizes establishing Abu Dhabi Customs as a global leader in trade facilitation and security through advanced innovations and cutting-edge digital technologies.
The strategic plan is built on six key objectives;
- Enhancing Customer Experience: Positioning Abu Dhabi as a preferred global trade destination through streamlined services.
- Boosting Revenue and Economic Growth: Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s economic competitiveness and revenue collection.
- Ensuring Community Security: Enhancing compliance and implementing robust risk management strategies.
- Driving Innovation and Sustainability: Creating a culture of excellence via sustainable practices and technological advancements.
- Developing Talent: Building a future-ready workforce for customs operations.
- Achieving Digital Leadership: Leveraging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and machine learning for superior operational efficiency.

His Excellency Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, highlighted that the strategic plan outlines 28 key projects over the next five years.
These include implementing a coordinated Border Management System, forging strong partnerships to streamline trade processes, and using data analytics to optimize operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Notable goals of the plan include; Increasing the rate of Pre-arrival Goods Clearance, Reducing Average Clearance times, and achieving full compliance with International Agreements, Policies, and Customs procedures.
Al Mansoori emphasized that these initiatives will bolster Abu Dhabi Customs’ reputation globally, foster sustainable development, and contribute to the UAE’s broader vision for economic prosperity and security.
