54th Eid Al Etihad (Union Day) continues to bring together families and communities across generations. It serves as a powerful reminder of a proud and resilient past, a flourishing present, and a forward-looking future.
The term ‘Eid Al Etihad’ can be translated from Arabic as the ‘Festival of the Union.’ The name emphasizes ‘Etihad,’ meaning union, reflecting the core of the UAE’s national identity. It embodies the nation’s lasting values of heritage, strength, and pride. The annual National Day celebration marks the historic moment on December 2, 1971, when the seven emirates came together in unity to form the United Arab Emirates.
This year’s Union Day festivities across the emirates are expected to feature a wide array of cultural performances, heritage events, artistic showcases, and public activities, celebrating more than five decades of unity, development, and national pride.
