Abu Dhabi: The 5th IMMAF Youth World Championships will be held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, from August 6–10, 2024, under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
For the third year running, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation will serve as the event’s host, under the auspices of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF).
More than 800 athletes from more than 45 countries are expected to compete in three divisions at the championships: Youth C (12–13 years old), Youth B (14–15 years old), and Youth A (16–17 years old). The UAE National Team, who placed first among Arab teams and fourth in the last edition of the competition, will also be making a solid showing. This is the team’s second time competing in the event.
His Excellency Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, President of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his limitless support for the advancement of UAE sports. His Excellency also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, for his generous patronage of the championships, constant guidance, and continuous encouragement of athletes.
His Excellency emphasized that the success of the championships depends on His Highness’s patronage, which encourages and inspires the athletes to continue their path of development and greatness and solidifies Abu Dhabi’s position as a top location for hosting international sporting events.
