Dubai: Once again highlighting the immense contribution made by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to the UAE and Global community, the utility service provider has revealed that its 177 employees contributed up to 46,560 volunteering hours at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Honoring the dedication and the hard work rendered by the employees, few of them were awarded the highly sought after ‘Golden Heart’ Award from Expo 2020 Dubai.
DEWA volunteers took part in several activities during the mega event such as but not limiting to; guiding visitors and answering their enquiries, participating in managing school visits, organizing entry to the expo, receiving VIPs, assisting country pavilion managers with visitor tours, and translating texts and correspondences with the Expo 2020 Dubai management.
DEWA employees were also involved in the organization of activities and events, including, the UAE National Day, Women’s Day, Haq Al Laila, New Year’s Eve, and International Volunteer Day among others.
EVENTS
Events and Conferences organized amid Expo 2020 such as the World Government Summit, the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show had also witnessed meaningful participation from DEWA employees.
DEWA MD & CEO, Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer praised volunteers from DEWA while commending them for their extraordinary efforts during Expo 2020 Dubai and their commitment to give a presentable image of Dubai and the UAE and make Expo 2020 Dubai an unforgettable experience for millions of visitors from all over the world.
The DEWA MD & CEO also celebrated the efforts by the DEWA team who managed DEWA Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
One of the most interesting pavilions in the Expo, DEWA’s pavilion attracted 1,044,743 visitors over the course of 6 months with attendees praising its projects, smart and innovative initiatives and efforts in sustainability presented at the venue.
GOLDEN HEART AWARD
DEWA employees who received the Golden Heart Award from Expo 2020 Dubai were;
- Eid Sayah Obaid from Billing Services
- Khuloud Alzarooni and Mohammad Alaghbari from Transmission Power
- Eisa Alzarooni from Water and Civil, and
- Asma Faisal from Power & Water Planning
