Abu Dhabi: Mr. Sebastian Vettel, the four-time champion, bids goodbye to the sport at the season-ending Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022. The renowned and legendary German driver is 3rd on the list of all-time F1 race victories and podium places, behind Mr. Michael Schumacher and Mr. Lewis Hamilton.
Mr. Vettel has had a distinguished 15-year career. The sports star raced in 8th place at Indianapolis in 2007 to become the youngest driver in F1 history to earn a point at the age of 19. Mr. Vettel’s greatest professional achievement was winning the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2010, making history as the youngest F1 winner and going on to win three more championships in a row with Red Bull.
The legendary racer ends his tumultuous career at Yas Marina Circuit, where he has a personal connection, after a peaceful two years with Aston Martin team. Mr. Vettel won the debut race on the track in 2009, followed by victories in 2010 and 2013, the latter of which set a record of 13 victories, which Mr. Max Verstappen has since surpassed. One of the circuit’s most successful drivers in history, the German driver has earned 7 podiums, including 3 triumphs.
The racer further stated that, if emotions are going to be high it would be a bit different inside the car. Mr. Vettel will be hoping for a top-10 finish scoring a point on his final career race.
