Sharjah: Over 190 experienced padel players from the UAE and the GCC are vying for one of six Wild Card entries to the World Padel Tour in the round of 16 and quarterfinals of the UAE Residents Open, part of the UAE Wild Card Championship, which began on 27th January 2023.
The UAE Wild Card Championship, which is sponsored by Emirates Post Group in collaboration with the UAE Padel Association and Abu Dhabi Sports Council, consists of six tournaments that will be held throughout the UAE over three weekends in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah from January 27 to February 12 2023.
There are male and female tournaments in each of the three categories of the championship: UAE Residents Open, UAE Nationals, and GCC Nationals. Over 90 teams, including over 50 men’s teams and 35 women’s teams, have signed up thus far for the six playoff games.

The round of 32 of this weekend’s play-off, which is only open to UAE citizens, was held the other day. The round of 16 and the quarterfinals are being held this day, and the semifinals will be held on 29th January 2023.
The World Padel Academy in Dubai will host the second competition of the championship, which is organised for UAE nationals, from February 3rd to February 5th 2023. The third edition of the championship will take place from February 10th to 11th 2023 at the Abu Dhabi Padel Hub of the Zayed Cricket Stadium and feature experienced padel players from different GCC nations.
