Dubai: Celebrating the country’s exceptional milestone of administering more than 1.5 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines, the Indian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai displayed the achievement on its one-of-a-kind façade.
THE INDIAN PAVILION
One of the most unique pavilions in the Expo 2020 site, the Indian Pavilion is known for its synergy of the country’s cultural heritage and new age technology. The four-level structure is distinctly identifiable for its one-of-a-kind, shape shifting façade consisting of 600 individual blocks.
A unique piece of architecture, the façade will create different moving patterns to showcase 75 stories about the history, and literature of the country over 26 weeks. In the evening, the dynamic structure will turn into a vibrant show with sound, light and projections.
The Pavilion was recently acknowledged as ‘one of the most Iconic’ pavilion among all the participating country pavilions by the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
A CROWD PULLER
Since its official unveiling by Indian Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Mr. Piyush Goyal on 1st of October, 2021, the Indian Pavilion turned out to be one of the most visited pavilions in Expo 2020 site as it attracted 600,000 visitors within just 83 Days of its Inauguration.
Visitors to the Indian Pavilion are greeted with a visual treat created by Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies which transport them to a Virtual India inside the Pavilion.
